A summer party to remember

PhysicsX had lots to celebrate. With 300-odd people split across London and New York they wanted a day that pulled everyone in the same direction. Two cities meant two away days, but they didn't want them feeling like two separate events. So we built one idea to sit over both: Build [Beyond]. Same name, same look, same feeling, whichever office you were in.

We ran the design across both and took the London day on ourselves, start to finish. Woolwich Works was the setting: an old arsenal building on the river, all brick and tall windows and a proper bit of character. Mornings were for the serious stuff, talks and a panel and the kind of sessions that only really land when everyone's finally in one room. We took care of everything else so nobody at PhysicsX had to think about a plug socket or a lunch order all day.

Then it loosened up. Food trucks in the courtyard, an afternoon scavenger hunt that got 200 people mixing and quietly competing, and a party that ran late: a DJ, a proper bar, lawn games, the football on, and the last bus not leaving till midnight. Serious in the morning, a genuinely good night by the end, and the PhysicsX team actually got to be there for it instead of running it.
