A party in the Costa Brava

Metaview had grown fast, to 105 people this year, spread across London, New York and San Francisco, plenty of whom had never actually met in person. The brief was simple: get everyone in one place for the first time and give them the room to get to know each other. So we took the whole team to Hotel Santa Marta on the Costa Brava, a beautiful spot right on the coastline with the sea on the doorstep.

The days were built around getting people out of their usual groups. Beach Olympics split everyone into mixed teams for some competitive fun, and a boat trip took the team out along the coast to swim in a quiet cove and make the most of the Costa Brava sunshine. For the thrill-seekers there was a Via Ferrata strung along the cliffs with some epic sea views, and for a gentler start to the day, yoga and Pilates — so there was something for everyone. There were work sessions too, making the most of the hotel’s meeting spaces, and plenty of free time to collaborate, wander and chat other over long lunches and dinners as teams.

It all built to an epic closing party with a flamenco performance, a photo booth, a DJ and the kind of night that sends everyone home with new mates. A team that started the week scattered across three cities and a lot of video calls left the Costa Brava actually knowing each other.
